Demo Time At Core
Today is a very exciting time at Core Essentials.
We've been planning on expanding our existing fitness space into the ground floor since January and today the demolition of the space started.
As you can see the space is quite a mess at the moment, but when construction is finished we'll have new showers, two new toilets and about 1,000 square feet of new workout space.
Head of the Class
We have been having a blast with our RealRyders! We are so pleased to see others are too, check out these reviews on the RealRyder:
The RealRyder ABF8 was just named the "HEAD OF THE CLASS Award Winner" as the best indoor cycle out of 30 bikes including the Star Trac Spinner NXT, the Schwinn Evolution SR, and the LeMond Revmaster Pro in an independent review :Fitness Professor Review Cardio:Spin Bikes
RealRyders out on the Road
We had a great night at the customer appreciation evening at Bicycles Plus this evening. They had a wonderful turn out of clients and friends.
We brought two of the RealRyders with us and had a chance to showcase them to road cyclists. The response was great and once the serious cyclists got on the bikes they could understand how useful they could be for training during the off season.
Thank you to Mike, our amazing Monday night instructor, his wife Ciara for their enthusiasm in showing people the bikes and for their ongoing support.
Friends & Valentine's Day
I love the idea of bringing a friend to workout. So for the month of February you can do just that!
February is 'Bring A Friend FREE' month at Core Essentials and I thought I would explain this a little better for everyone.
So here it is: You can bring the same friend once this month, but if you happen to be here 3-4 times per week, you can bring a different friend each time you come- how fun!
My husband thought I should send out something for Valentine's Day...
Core Essentials Newsletter for February
It's hard to believe that January is almost over, the month has flown by!
I am sending out a blog this month because we have a new newsletter software that is a wee bit more challenging than I thought it would be; so it's going to take some more tutorials before you see the new newsletters. I will send one out mid-February with the March listings. Now that I’ve given you a date, I am committed to learning the software before then!
Zumba for Haiti Fundraiser
UPDATE: [Saturday January 23rd] We managed to raise $550 from our 'Zumba for Haiti' fundsraiser on Wednesday with some more donations expected to come in this weekend.
Again - a huge thank you to the 30 ladies that showed up for the Zumba for Haiti class at the Super 8 Motel in Dartmouth, who kindly donated the space.
Looking Foward...
The first week of January has been a busy week at Core, new classes started and we've been able to meet a lot of new people in the community.
The RealRyder schedule got underway and as we knew it would be, people are loving the experience. We have an amazing group of instructors who all bring a little something different to each of their classes.

Fitness in 2010
In today's Metro Paper they had an article that talked about the top fitness trends in 2010. I was really excited to see of course kettlebells be mentioned there, just how effective their workouts and the total body toning effects they have.
Core Essentials also has a quite a few of the other top trends.
1. 30 minute classes, where fitness can be done over a lunch hour and you are back at your desk within the hour. Short efficient and effective workouts.
