I'm a believer

Hey everyone! I can attest to the affects of this vitiman D. As if the man needed more energy, ladies and gentlemen..it has happend. But what a great place CORE is. A Halifax based crew of us makes the journey over the bridge at lunchtime MWF for continued torture, I mean classes with Mr. Guthrie and it has been "working out" fantastic.

We went from sessions in a closet (literally) to a massive open space with an endless ceilings and the windows really do make all the difference. And they open, fresh air!! I must warn you though, Craig has a pull up bar at his disposal (god help us) and he has us on it every chance he gets.

I have also had the opportunity to use the RealRyders and the Water Rowers and I encourage you to get over there asap to try these beautiful machines. They take your workout to the next level and I have had minimal use thus far. Having said all of this, by far the greatest thing about Core Essentials is the atmosphere and feeling you get as soon as you walk in.

The concept behind this facility is a novel idea that I feel has been lost over the years in the larger gym chains. I left Nubody's a few times over the years for this very reason and came back only last year to join Craig's class and remember thinking he was a fish out of water as he was unlike any other instructor I encountered at Nubody's.(because he's a coach, big difference)

Well he is home now I can assure you, come reap the benefits as we are. I applaud Laurissa Manning and her team for this special place and thank her for thinking of us as humans, not numbers. You can take out of this gym, only what you want, there is no obligation, no membership, no senseless fees.

So for those of you who are toying with the idea of trying out Core Essentials or think we are crazy for crossing the bridge for a workout, let me say this....I have only known Craig for 5 months, but in that short amount of time he has delivered on every single promise made to me on the condition that I work hard. And my results speak for themselves and of Craig's ability to deliver and I have blogged about this point often. And I know there are so many of us with similar stories and if you're reading this, you've joined this blog because of him.

My initial goals were in vain (lose weight, look better blah,blah,etc..) but he has taught me so much more. I have never been this strong and I am in the shape of my life both physically and mentally and the best part is, I have only scratched the surface and I look forward to reaching new levels of fitness. It really was a no brainer for me to follow Craig and I am sure I speak for my travel companions on this point. There is something to be said of loyalty these days and this really is a win/win situation.

It may be that work obligations or just the logistics of it all prevent you from coming, but if not; give it a try. We are really not giving much more of our time. We arrive at 11:30am and are back in our seats at the office by 1pm. It may be that I come in to work a little earlier or leave a little later to compensate but, at the end of the day I have taken time for myself and my health and have the rest of the evening to devote to my family.(a precious gift that those of you without children will appreciate if/when the time comes) Not to mention all the other options offered. I also do a 7am session and am able to start my day by 8:30am and I plan to drop in on a Saturday class when I can.

I will sign off with a comment Craig made that has stuck with me. A few months back when I was in exceptional pain from whatever crazy move he was throwing at us, I gasped that I was dying and not missing a beat he yelled back "no you're not, you're living!!" Well said....come join us. Cheers! (I still have a strong dislike of the TGU, that will never change...)
